The Lucy Art Residency programme offers the opportunity for an artist based in Europe and the Mediterranean whose main practice is photography focused to spend two weeks in June 2017 in Kavala. Τhe selected artist will have the opportunity to live and work in the coastal city in the north of Greece with transportation, accommodation and subsistence covered.

The winner for 2017 is Sylvain Couzinet-Jacques. A second prize was awarded to Klara Källström and Thobias Fäldt that have been invited to present their work in Kavala during the final week of the residency program. The winners were selected out of almost 200 applications by a Jury comprised of Kim Knoppers (Curator at FOAM), Shoair Mavlian (Curator at Tate Modern), Sara Dolfi Agostini (advisory member of the photography board of Triennale Museum in Milan), Arsen Kalfayan (co-founder of Kalfayan Galleries) 

The goal of this residency is to give the artist two weeks of free time to explore Kavala and the regions around the city. Furthermore the artist will be commissioned to produce one new artwork that will be part of the archive of the residency, accessible to the visitors of the hotel as well as the future residents.

Τo Lucy Art Residency ειναι ενα νεοσυστατο πρόγραμμα που δίνει την ευκαιρία  σε ανερχόμενους καλλιτέχνες φωτογράφους από την Ευρώπη και τις Μεσογειακές χώρες να περάσουν 2 εβδομάδες στη πόλη της Καβάλας παρέχοντας τα έξοδα ταξιδιού, ένα ημερήσιο επίδομα καθως και πλήρη φιλοξενία στο Ξενοδοχείο Lucy.

Ο νικητής για το 2017 ειναι ο Sylvain Couzinet-Jacques. Το δευτερο βραβείο δώθηκε στους  Klara Källström and Thobias Fäldt. Επιλέχθηκαν μέσα απο περίπου 200 αιτήσεις από κριτική επιτροπή που αποτελούνταν απο τους: Αρσεν Καλφαγιαν (Kalfayan Galleries),  Shoair Mavlian (Επιμελήτρια στην Tate Modern), Kim Knoppers (Ιστορικός Τέχνης, Μουσείο Φωτογραφίας FΟΑΜ) και Sara Dolfi Agostini (Επιμελήτρια και συμβουλευτικό μέλος στο Μουσειο της Triennale του Μιλάνου). 

Ο σκοπος του προγράμματος ειναι να δώσει στον καλλιτέχνη ελεύθερο χρόνο και τη δυνατότητα να γνωρίσει την πόλη της Καβάλας και την ευρύτερη περιοχή. 

Στο καλλιτέχνη γίνεται ανάθεση έργου που θα εκτείθεται στο χώρο του ξενοδοχείου Lucy και θα είναι μέρος του αρχείου του Lucy Art Residency.
