FAQ

What is included in the residency.

The residency includes accommodation in a private room in the five star hotel Lucy, breakfast and three daily meals in the hotel's restaurant, economy flights to and from the country of residence and a per diem of 25 Euros for personal expenses. For the production of the artwork following the residency a 300 Euro Artist Fee will be paid and up to 300 Euro production budget provided.

Should I apply with a project?

Applying with a project is not a requirement. The concept of the residency is the offer and exploration of free time. Therefore the artist statement is a way to introduce oneself and their praxis to the Jurors and the letter of intend will explain why you would be very eager to have two weeks of free time and how this might help you now. Of course should you like to use the residency as an opportunity to continue a project or start a new one in Kavala, we would never discourage you from doing so!

What is not included in the residency

Personal, health and equipment insurance must be arranged by the artist in advance. Please make sure that your insurance policy covers you in all kinds of emergency as the Residency is not able to provide comprehensive health coverage of any kind.

What disciplines are accepted in the residency?

Currently we accept applications from visual artists that use photography extensively in their practice.

Either fill in the form found at the bottom of this page or send us an email at info@lucyartresidency.com

Should I write to ask you to give me feedback on my application if I am not successful ?

Please, do not ask us to give you feedback on your application. We have broken our own rule in the past, because we understand that sharing feedback is valuable and meaningful and opens up a dialogue, and we appreciate the time you have invested in putting your application together. However, we are a very small team and it has taken us an enormous effort to make sure that this Residency survived the pandemic. In order to keep everything free for the artists applying, we literally can not afford to give individual feedback. Remember that we are only a few people and that there are hundreds of you.
